All Weather Types in Minecraft – What Are the Different Weather Conditions?

In both single-player and multiplayer modes, millions of people play the wildly popular sandbox video game Minecraft. In this realistic-looking yet blocky game, players can hunt animals in the pouring rain, construct buildings under cloudy skies, walk around with the sun shining on them, and even farm in the snow.

Looking at every type of weather that exists in the Minecraft world

In Minecraft, have you ever looked up at the sky and pondered whether it had weather? The various types of weather in Minecraft are explained on this page.

Rainy

Rainfall is a type of weather in Minecraft that only occurs in the Overworld and can happen at any time of year; it never occurs in savannah or desert biomes. In colder climates, it never rains, probably because the water quickly turns to snow. The power of the sun is diminished when it rains during the day, which darkens the surrounding area.

Rainfall frequently lasts anywhere from half a day to an entire in-game day. If this happens, there won't be any rain for up to 7.5 in-game days, or half a day. Rain can turn into a thunderstorm in-game, though this is not likely to happen. If it's raining, players can go to bed; when they wake up, the rain will stop.

Even burning arrows can be extinguished by rain. You can always leave campfires burning outside because it doesn't put them out. In Minecraft, rain can help plants and crops grow more quickly than they would in real life.

Clear/Cloudy

In Minecraft, the sky is overcast with heavy clouds but no rain.

Clear weather is characterized by a gorgeous blue sky and clear, warm sunlight. You will feel as though you are outside on a lovely day with the sun high in the sky. Almost every Minecraft server has this type of weather, which is among the most prevalent in the game. Visibility is never a problem.

Clear and cloudless skies are identical because clouds do not block sunlight from reaching your character or the surrounding area. To make your game run more smoothly, you can simply turn off cloud visibility or lower the graphics settings as a player.

Thunderstorm

Rainstorms have the ability to develop into thunderstorms, which could injure players and lightning- struck entities. There is a chance that blocks close to you will be struck by lightning because it can strike the ground. A loud "thunder roar" will be audible, and your screen will flash brilliantly before a fire starts where the lightning struck.

Rarely do thunderstorms occur in the weather. Like rain, players can fall asleep in a thunderstorm at any time, and when they wake up, it will be gone. Furthermore, compared to rain, thunderstorms significantly reduce the amount of light from the sky.

Each mob is affected differently by lightning strikes because it is a common element of these storms. Lightning strikes a horse, and the horse changes into four skeleton horsemen. A creeper that is struck by lightning changes into a charged creeper that bursts with a significantly higher power. A pig changes into the same zombie pigman that was seen in the Nether. Red mushrooms turn into brown mooshrooms, and villagers become witches when struck by lightning, and vice versa.

Snowy

Snowfall is a biome-specific phenomenon that can happen in snowy biomes at any time. Snowfall only happens above a specific y level, which varies by biome. The duration of snowfall in such a region is equivalent to that of rain.

Even the impact of snowflakes falling can be seen in the atmosphere. In addition, burning entities do not go out when they come into contact with snow, unlike when it rains. Snowflakes appear to fall down each block's two middle lines rather than straight onto the player. Snowfall causes the clouds to darken from white to light gray, but no precipitation actually falls.
